The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for FREE access. ************************************************************************************************************** The Cairo Messenger, December 10, 1965 Johnson Gainous Dies Suddenly At Home; Funeral Last Monday Funeral services for Johnson Gainous, of Cairo, who passed away at his residence last Saturday after suffering a heart attack, were held December 6 at the Spring Hill Methodist Church with the Revs. John Taylor and Jams Agee officiating. Interment followed in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Clark Funeral Home in charge. Born in Grady County in December 1890, he married the former Beulah Faircloth in January, 1923. Mrs. Gainous passed away in October of this year and is also interred in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Survivors include three sons, Dewitt Gainous, Jimmy Gainous, both of Cairo, and Larry Gainous, Fernandino Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Merle Bennett, Largo, Fla., and Miss Jean Gainous, Austell, Ga.; two brothers, Austin Gainous, Henry Gainous, both of Cairo; one sister, Mrs. Elmira Norton, Cairo; and eight grandchildren.
