W. Mills Passes at Home After Long Illness (Dollie Mae Chastain) Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur W. Mills, who died at 1:45 p.m. at her home in Ochlochnee following a long illness, were held at 11 a.m. at the Tired Creek Methodist Church with Rev. H. T. Montgomery, Elder Josh Davis, and Elder M. T. Shepherd in charge of the services. Burial followed in the Tired Creek Methodist Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Leroy, Bill, Bernice Chastain, Dallas Carter, David Hurst and Alvie Carter. Honorary pallbearers were Raymond and Talton Johnson, Wesley and Edwin Collins, and Dewey Weeks, Bob Griffin and Kandle Smith. Mrs. Mills was born Jan. 27, 1903 in Ochlochnee, daughter of W. E. and Annie Myrick Chastain. She married Mr. Mills in 1927 and moved to Grady County where she lived until 1959 when she moved back to Ochlochnee. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Faith. Survivors include her husband and one son, Bobby Mills, Ochlocknee; two stepsons, Delma Mills, Ochlochnee; and T. H. Mills of Thomasville, one stepdaughter, Mrs. D. J. Cook of Ochlochnee; three brothers, Henry Chastain, Thomasville, Louie and Emory Chastain, both of Ochlochnee; one sister, Mrs. Sallie Carter, Ochlocknee, and 11 grandchildren. Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
