Green Lodge, died suddenly April 17 in Homestead, Fla. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. W. E. Pledger officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery with Clark Funeral Home officiating. Active pallbearers were Rodney Collins, George Barfield, Thomasville; Sherwood Duncan, Bainbridge; Stacy Williams, Cairo; Hollis Chason and Emory McBroom, Whigham. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy T. Harrison, Martin Harrell, Willie Crew, Joe Ulmer, Earl Brinson, Ralph Miller, Perry Merritt, Whigham, T. J. Williams, Nathan Trawick and Harvey Whigham, Cairo. Mrs. Lodge was born April 11, 1899 in Decatur County, now Grady County. She is the daughter of William Riley and Sarah Tucker Barfield. Mrs. Lodge was married to W. Green Lodge on December 28, 1918. She was a lifetime resident of this county and a member of the Whigham Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her husband, include six daughters, Mrs. Lacy Mavon, Mrs. Anne Garrett, Lakeland, Fla., Mrs. Betty Gammon, Beaufort, S. C., Mrs. Jeanette Collins, Valdosta, Mrs. Ouida Baker, Homestead, Fla.; six sons, LaVaughn Lodge, John L. Lodge, Thomasville, Lonnie C. Lodge, Columbus, Willie Dewitt Lodge, Donald Maynard Lodge and Dwight H. Lodge, Lakeland, Fla.; three brothers, Lewis Barfield, Plant City, Fla., Luther Barfield, Camilla, Ga., Barry Barfield, Eustis, Fla.; five sisters, Miss Ora Bell Barfield, Mrs. Oscar Matthews, Miss Lena Barfield, Bainbridge, Mrs. George Richards, Camilla, Ga., Mrs. Jamie Harrell, Vada, and 32 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
