She had been suffering for the past two years with a cancerous growth on her neck. She suffered a great deal in her last days and bore it with patience. All was done for her that loving hands and friends could do, but without avail. She was born near Cairo, in what is now Grady County, and was about 50 years of age. She was married to Mr. Hardy Burns about 32 years ago. She was a faithful wife and a tender and loving mother. She leaves a husband and nine children, ten grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing away. Weep not, Mr. Burns, for dear Mollie is only sleeping and awaiting for the gates to unfold for you. Dear children, remember dear Mother's teachings and keep a close walk beside our Savior and when our race is run and our work on earth is done, you too, can cross and meet Dear Mother at the Pearly Gates where she is waiting for you. Weep not, for she is now waiting for the Pearly Gates to unfold and oh, what a happy meeting that will be in that happy home where rest is forever more. Her children are: Messrs. Noah Burns of Savannah, Ga.; Marvin Burns, Jacksonville, Fla.; Calvin, Cecil, Hansell, and Mack Burns; Mrs. Emory Booth; Mrs. Edgar Sasser and Mrs. Leonard Hawthorne. Her remains were laid to rest at Tired Creek Cemetery Sunday December 19th. Written by a friend.
