E. Coker Passed Away Last Saturday Mr. J. E. Coker, one of Grady County's most prominent farmers, passed away at his home 17 miles north of Cairo, last Friday night, about 11 o'clock. He had been sick for only a few days with fever, which was the cause of his death. The funeral services were held at Mispah Church Saturday afternoon, being attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. Mr. Coker was about 45 years of age. The deceased was a well known citizen and at one time was prominent in the W.O.W. and at the time of his death, president of the Southwest Georgia Sacred Harp Singing Convention. He had held this office for the past 12 years. Mr. Coker is survived by a wife, several children, besides numerous relatives and friends.
