Gainous, 71 Mr. Alexander H. Ganious died at his home in the northwestern section of Grady County at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, after a long illness of thirteen months. The deceased spent his entire life in this county; he was seventy-one years of age, his parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Gainous. Mr. Gainous was a member of the Spring Hill Methodist Church and lived a consistent Christian life. The funeral service was held at Spring Hill Church at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Hendrix conducting. Interment was in Spring Hill cemetery. Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Maggie Pearl Lee; one daughter, Miss Ellen Virginia Gainous, of Cairo; two sons, Quinn B. and Roger Gainous of Grady County; one granddaughter, Gloria Lavern Gainous; two sisters, Mrs. Merrine Lee, of Fort Myers, Fla., Mrs. Maude Oats of Grady County; and one brother, M. D. Gainous, of Grady County. Arrangements were handled by South Georgia Funeral Home.
