The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for FREE access. ************************************************************************************************************** The Cairo Messenger, Friday February 25, 1938 Passes Sunday Miss Annie Mae Horton Is Victim of Tonsil Infection Miss Annie Mae Horton, the attractive 16-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Horton, well-known residents of Grady County, died about 6 o'clock last Sunday morning at the home of her parents, following a critical illness caused by a throat infection. She had been ill about two weeks, but her untimely death led to widespread and unusual sadness. Funeral and interment were at Pine Level, about 8 miles north of Cairo, at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning, in charge of Rev. Wilburn S. Smith, pastor of the First Baptist Church here and South Georgia Funeral Home. Surviving, besides her parents, are seven sisters and one brother, Alvin Lee Horton.
