The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for FREE access. ************************************************************************************************************** The Cairo Messenger, March 11, 1932 Dies Suddenly Stroke Fatal To Mr. Homer Harrell Saturday Night Mr. Homer Harrell, 60, an esteemed Grady County citizen, who resided 11 miles northwest of Cairo, died suddenly a short time after he retired last Saturday night. He had been in bed about five minutes when he heard a door slam. His wife suggested that he get up and investigate. He started to get up, but fell to the floor, face downward. He failed to answer subsequent calls by his wife from another room and she arose to find him dead. He suffered a stroke, resulting from high blood pressure. Mr. Harrell was an upright man and was a member of the Methodist church. Funeral and interment were at New Hope on Monday morning with Rev. H. B. Shearhouse, of Whigham in charge. Surviving are his widow; four sons: Leonard, Ira, Lannis and Riley Harrell; three daughters: Mrs. Ethel Ponder, Mrs. Ruth Logue and Mrs. Rebecca Logue; two brothers: Ira Harrell of Texas and Duff Harrell of this county; and two sisters, Mrs. Mitt Logue and Mrs. Frank Smith, of Whigham.
