The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for FREE access. ************************************************************************************************************** The Cairo Messenger, Friday, March 24, 1939 Mrs. Harrell Dies Whigham Resident Is Pneumonia Victim Wednesday Mr. Ida Barfield Harrell, 23, of Whigham, died at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon of pneumonia, following an illness of seven days. Her untimely demise was a sad shock to many relatives and friends. Mrs. Harrell was born July 30th, 1915, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marian Barfield, now of Sarasota, Fla. She had spent her entire life in this county and was of the Methodist faith. Her fine traits of character caused her to be widely admired. Funeral and interment were at New Home Thursday morning at 11 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Marvin Vincent, pastor of the Whigham Methodist Church, and South Georgia Funeral Home. Surviving are her husband, Ira D. Harrell; her parents; one son, David; and four sisters and five brothers.
