At the age of seventy-three he departed this life, forty years of which he was a member of the Baptist church, being a member and a deacon of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for twenty years. From a stroke of paralysis two years ago, he has been confined to his room unable to walk or speak. He was loved by all who knew him. At all times he manifested that Christ-like spirit seeking every opportunity to speak a word for his Master. He leaves one sister, one brother, one son and two daughters and a number of relatives and friends to mourn his death. During his affliction he was at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. H. Williams, who did all that loving hands could do for her father while he was helpless.
