The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for FREE access. ************************************************************************************************************** Cairo Messenger, Friday, October 27th, 1939 Mrs. Sallie Whigham Victim of Paralysis At Home North Of Whigham Mrs. Sallie Whigham, a beloved resident of the Spring Hill community, north of Whigham, passed to her eternal reward about 10 o'clock last Tuesday morning, October 24th, at her home. She had been ill for some time, a victim of paralysis. Mrs. Whigham was born in what was then Decatur, now Grady County, 67 years ago last July 14th, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. Brock, and spent her entire life in the section where she was born and died. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Funeral and interment were at the Spring Hill Methodist Church and cemetery, 10 miles north of Whigham, at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, in charge of Elder T. R. Crawford and South Georgia Funeral Home. Surviving are her husband, S. E. Whigham; three daughters, Mrs. H. L. Gainous, Cairo, Mrs. A. C. Whigham, Thrift, Texas, and Mrs. W. A. Speed, Sunset, Texas; two sons, H. F. and J. R. Whigham of this county; and sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
