Harrell Laid To Rest Sunday Death claimed one of Grady County's outstanding citizens when Mr. William Robert Harrell a resident of the northwestern edge of the county passed to his reward after a useful life extending through seventy-five years. Death occurred at his home at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon, May 27th, after a brief illness. Heart trouble was the fatal ailment. Mr. Harrell was born in what was then Decatur County, Ga., on April 20th, 1862, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Littleton B. Harrell. He was married in young manhood to Miss Matilda Bell and spent his entire life in this section. He was a successful farmer and a substantial citizen, greatly admired by many people. He was a member of the Christian Church and for many years was active in promoting its teachings. The final rites were held at the Mars Hill Church, near where he lived, at 11 a.m. last Saturday, May 29, in charge of Rev. W. A. Joiner, of Americus, Rev. T. W. Salter of Bainbridge, and South Georgia Funeral Home. Sons and sons-in-law served as pallbearers. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Matilda Bell Harrell; two daughters, Mrs. R. T. Parker, of Climax, and Mrs. Armissie Dekle, of Whigham; seven sons, A. L., J. J., L. B. and W. R. Harrell, Jr., of Jacksonville, Fla., W. B. Harrell, of New York City, and G. C. and Douglas Harrell of Whigham; two brothers, Littleton Harrell, of Climax and Harmon Harrell, of Cairo; one sister, Mrs. Betsy Martin of Whigham; and seventeen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
