Nicholson Passes Away A sad, though not unexpected, death occurred last Friday evening about nine o'clock, when the spirit of Mr. Alex Z. Nicholson took its flight to the Great Beyond. Mr. Nicholson, whose home was near Meigs, had for some time been a sufferer from a complicated liver trouble and had been brought to this city about two months ago to the home of his brother, Mr. R. L. Nicholson, so that he would be near his physician and might receive closer attention. Although he had the best of nursing, he gradually grew weaker until the end came Friday. The body was taken to Macedonia church, 13 miles north of town Sunday morning, where the funeral services were held about noon, and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Davis, a Baptist minister, of Meigs, a close friend of the deceased. Interrment followed in the church yard. The deceased was a prominent farmer and lumberman of North Grady and had numbers of friends throughout the County who will be grieved to hear of his demise. He was 42 years of age and is survived by his wife and eight children, his mother, 3 sisters, and four brothers.
