He had suffered for several years with paralysis, and was stricken down Wednesday, and all that loving hands and medical aid could do was done, but he passed away Thursday. Mr. Mathis had been a citizen of Grady County all his life and a member of the Woodland Methodist church. He was a kind and devoted husband and a loving affectionate father. Those who were left to mourn his death, are his wife, Mrs. Will Mathis, and five children, Messrs. Tom and Bart Mathis, Mrs. Neel Thomas, all of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Tom Dunlap and Mrs. Bob Walker, of Grady County. His death causes much regret and the bereaved family have the deepest sympathy of their friends in the community.
