D. Wimberly died after a four days illness with pneumonia on Thursday of last week and was buried at Tired Creek Church on Saturday. This is peculiarly a sad dispensation in view of the fact that her husband, Mr. J. D. Wimberly, was recently carried to the State Sanitarium for treatment and on account of his wife. Mr. Wimberly has been a prominent and valued citizen of Decatur and Grady counties, all his life and no man stands higher as a Christian gentleman than he and his life has been devoted to his family and he has always stood for the best interest of his fellow man. After his unfortunate breakdown physically and mentally, the entire responsibility and care of the large family devoted on his good wife and therefore her sudden taking away seems a strange Providence when viewed sadly from a human standpoint. There are eight surviving children, three girls and five boys all more or less dependent except the two oldest boys, the eldest being Gordon who has been living in Richmond, Va., for several years. He will take with him to Richmond the two oldest girls, Pearl and Ruby. The youngest girl will be cared for by her uncle, Mr. C. W. Wimberly of Bainbridge. The boys will continue at the home of their farm near Tired Creek Church, devoting themselves to making a crop where it is hoped they will soon be joined by their father, who is improving slowly. Mrs. Wimberly was a consecrated Christian, a member of the Baptist church for years and her life of devotion to husband and children will ever be cherished as a sweet remembrance by them. The Messenger joins the many friends of this bereaved family in deepest sympathy and commends them to the tender care of the all wise God.
