The body was brought to Cairo on the afternoon train Wednesday and taken to the home of Mr. Will Baggett, another son, where it remained until 9 o'clock Thursday, when it was taken to Long Branch Church, where the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jackson, of Thomasville, and Rev. W. C. Jones, of this city. Interment followed in the churchyard. "Uncle Wash", as he was familiarly known here, was a citizen of Cairo for a number of years and was a familiar figure on our streets. He was popular with all, and his death is the source of genuine regret to his friends. He is survived by two sons and three daughters, all of whom reside in Grady and Thomas counties.
