W. Brown Passes Away Tuesday Night About eight o'clock Tuesday evening the spirit of Mrs. T. W. Brown took its flight from this world to a brighter and happier one in the great beyond. 'Twas only for about a week that Mrs. Brown had been confined to her bed, yet her condition became so critical, that for several days past, her life had been despaired of. Prior to her marriage to the late T. W. Brown, she was Miss Dora Mills, and was born July 21st, 1841. Her beautiful Christian character, her quiet unassuming manner, her devotion to her home and family and her love for God and her fellow man, has deeply impressed all who knew her. Since early in life, she has been a devout Christian, being a faithful and consistent member of the Methodist church. The explicit faith in her Lord, that has kept and sustained her through the sunshine and shadows of life, characterized her death, for she passed away, not going with any doubts or misgivings, but with the blessed assurance that the protecting arms of the Savior was extended to her and that there was a home prepared for her in the Heavenly regions. Thrice blessed are they who have the sweet benediction of a saintly mother's life fall upon them. The full effects of a consecrated life like hers can never be reckoned on earth, but only in Heaven will the full fruition be seen. The funeral services were held at the family residence at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. L. Wright, assisted by Rev. J. B. Wight. Interment followed at the city cemetery. Mrs. Brown is survived by the following children: Miss Kathryn Brown, Miss Missouri Brown, Messrs. F. T. and F. G. Brown, Mrs. J. E. Hurst and Mrs. W. O. Harrison, all of this city. Mr. B. M. Brown of Rome and Mr. M. A. Brown of Brundidge, Ala. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
