W. Hurst Passes Away A sad death occurred last Wednesday morning, Oct. 21st, when the spirit of Mrs. Lela Hurst, wife of Rev. W. J. Hurst, who lives five miles east of town, took its flight from this world to a brighter one above. Mrs. Hurst had been ill with blood poisoning for three weeks and for the last few days her life had been despaired of. Prior to her marriage to Mr. Hurst, she was Miss Lela Poulk, daughter of Little John Poulk, a former citizen of this county, who died in Oklahoma a few months past. She was a sweet Christian woman, whose estimable character won her the love and esteem of all who were associated with her. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, whose presence will be greatly missed, but whose influence can never be forgotten. She is survived by her husband, 4 sons and 3 daughters, and one brother, Mr. Will Poulk. The funeral was held at the Pearce Chapel cemetery east of town late Wednesday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. J. B. Wight of this city. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends gathered to pay this last tribute of respect. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
