R. Gray, six miles below town. Mrs. Collins, who was the widow of the late M. C. T. Collins, was in her 80th year. She had been in declining health for nearly a year, but with her continued suffering, the end was not expected and came as a shock to her many friends and relatives. Mrs. Collins was a loyal and consistent member of the Primitive Baptist church for a number of years. The remains were laid to rest in the Collins cemetery Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. Elder William Hollingsworth, her pastor, conducted the funeral services. Deceased is survived by three sons, Messrs. W. P., J. H. and M. C. T., Jr. Collins, two daughters, Mrs. H. A. Miller and Mrs. J. R. Gray of this county, besides a large number of grandchildren and other relatives. "The Grady County Progress", Cairo, Georgia, December 4, 1914 Mrs. Eliza Collins passed away to her heavenly home last Sunday afternoon. She was born in the southern section of Grady County and has always been a resident of this county. Reared amid the refinement of a Christian home, she was an honor to her parents and to the delightful home in which she was brought up. A purer, sweeter spirit never lived. Every one who knew her loved her. She was a faithful, consistent Christian and loved the Church. In her young ladyhood she was happily married to Mr. Malachi Collins. On last Sunday afternoon she passed to the Great Beyond after having been paralyzed for one year. She died at the age of eighty. She left six children to mourn her loss. The are Messrs. J. H., W. P., M. C. T. Collins all of Grady County, Mr. A. T. Collins of Bowling Green, Fla., Mesdames H. A. Miller and J. R. Gray of Grady County. Mrs. L. Baggett of Fernandena, Fla., Mrs. J. C. Butler, of Calvary, Mr. I. A. Baggett, of Reno, Mr. P. M. Baggett, of Cairo, Mr. L. G. Baggett, of Atlanta, Mrs. W. L. Lewis, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mr. Anderson Collins, of Cairo, are grandchildren of the deceased. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. William Hollingsworth of Whigham.
