T. McKown passed away at her home on North Broad street at 3:00 o'clock Thursday morning. She had been in failing health for several months, but the direct cause of her death was due to stomach and heart trouble. Every thing medical aid and loving hands could do was done for her but she quietly passed away early yesterday morning. Mrs. McKown was in her 74th year. Before her marriage she was a Miss Evalyn McLendon. She was married to Mr. G. W. Wynn, Feb. 17th, 1859 and they lived happily together for a few years when he was called to fight for the south's cause. He was killed in the battle of Gettysburg. Mrs. McKown was married again on November 10th, 1867 to Mr. J. A. McKown. Mr. McKown passed away on June 27th, 1909. Mrs. McKown was a devoted member of the Cairo Baptist church, having joined this denomination in 1876. She is survived by three sisters, and two daughters, Mrs. M. G. McManeus and Mrs. Rosa Godwin, both of this city. The remains will be laid to rest Friday morning at 11 o'clock at Long Branch cemetery, the funeral services to be conducted by Dr. J. A. Wynne.
