P. Maxwell Passes To Great Beyond Last Sunday afternoon, Jan. 30th, the community was greatly shocked when Mrs. M. Pat Maxwell nee Miss Vera Whigham, after only a few hours of illness passed to the great beyond. All that medical aid and loving hands could do was done but with no avail. She leaves a husband, father, Mr. W. L. Whignam, and a sister, Miss Lula Whigham of this county, also four brothers, Carson and Grady of Sour Lake, Texas and Marvin and Alva of Nocatee, Fla., besides a host of relatives and friends who mourn her departure as she goes to eternal rest. As a daughter, sister and wife, none surpassed her in love, kindness and devotion. The deceased was born and reared five miles north-west of Whigham. During early girlhood she gave her life to the Savior, since that time, she has been a devoted member of the Spring Hill Methodist church. The remains were laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery Monday afternoon, Jan. 31st. Her pastor, Rev. I. K. Chambers of Whigham conducted the funeral services, he having only about ten months ago performed the ceremony which made she and her husband one. The Lord sent her here to dwell, But twenty-four years in all, The work He gave, she did well, And then he Sent his call. We grieve not for her, Because he knows best, She is with the Angels now, Hence she shall ever rest. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
