H. Hesters Last Sunday morning, Mr. Thomas H. Hesters, one of the county's most prominent farmers and business men, passed into the Great Beyond, at his home eight miles north of Cairo. He was attacked with paralysis at two o'clock Sunday morning, passing away at six o'clock. Mr. Hesters was born October 14th, 1855 and had entered his 62nd year. He had been a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist church for 30 odd years, and was laid to rest in the burial grounds of Mispah church, he being a member of this church, Monday afternoon at one o'clock, surrounded by a large concourse of mourning relatives and friends. Elder Davis performed the last sad rites. Those of his family left to mourn his departure are his wife and ten children, two of which had preceded him. Mr. Hesters was one of Grady county's most highly beloved and respected citizens and truly none knew him but to love him. His charitable disposition and broad mindedness attracted everyone to him; two brothers, Messrs. George and Joe Hester; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Collins, Mrs. Sallie Cone and Mrs. Malinda Jordan and one half sister, Mrs. Noba Rawls. Truly a good man has gone to his reward and to his afflicted family, we tender our devout condolence, knowing full well that He who tempereth the wind to the shorn lamb, will bind their bruised and bleeding hearts as He alone can.
