S. Mayo Passes Away In Bainbridge The many friends of Mr. A. S. Mayo of Whigham will learn with much regret of his death which occurred in Bainbridge, at a hospital, where he had been taken for treatment. Mr. Mayo was taken suddenly ill last Saturday morning while at his post of duty at the A.C.L. depot in Whigham with appendicitis. He was taken to Bainbridge where he quietly passed away last Wednesday morning at ten o'clock. Mr. Mayo had been a resident of Whigham for the past nine or ten years and was agent for the A.C.L. Railway. He made many friends since going to Whigham and was well liked by all. Mr. Mayo was about 38 years of age and was a consistent member of the Methodist church, besides being a member of the W.O.W. He is survived by a father and mother, his wife and five children, besides numerous relatives and friends. At the time of going to press Thursday afternoon, no arrangements had been made for the funeral. The Messenger extends condolence to the bereaved ones in their hour of affliction.
