T. Sellers On March 23rd, 1917 at 9 o'clock, the Death Angel came, and without warning, took from our midst, Mr. W. T. Sellers. Mr. Sellers had been in failing health for the past two years, although his death came as a great shock to all. He had walked out in the field where his son was plowing, and, on reaching him, he made this remark: "Well, I have got here, but I don't know when I will get back." And uttering these words he fell to the ground, and without a struggle he took his flight to that glorious world above. Oh! How sad to know that he is gone, but the words he has often said, "I am ready to go at any time," are such a consolation to all. It was his desire to go as he did, so God heard his request, and took him without suffering so great. Mr. Sellers was born August 7th, 1850, this making his stay on earth 66 years, 7 months and 16 days. He had been a member of the Free Will Baptist Church for the past thirty years, and was always a consistent member, being ordained as a Free Will preacher on December 13, 1891 and every one who knew him well say that he held out faithfully until the end. He was always a rare gentleman, blending the soul of Christian courtesy with honor and integrity, beyond reproach, his presence radiated good cheer, and his sincerity held the friends he readily made. His devotion to the church was a dominating factor in his life. He also stood ready to advance the interests of the Kingdom above. He was married to Miss Dorendia Bustle, forty four years ago. He was a loving, true and helpful husband, a kind and devoted father. Besides his wife, Mr. Sellers leaves three sons, Willie, Gussie and Sam. All lived near him at the time of his death. Gussie was a student of the Ayden Seminary for three years. He leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn his going away. He was loved by all who knew him and his influence will live long in the hearts of those for whom he labored and prayed. While our hearts sorrow because he is gone, it is not as those who have no hope, for we know where to find him. Another budded on earth, but blooms in Heaven; another hand is beckoning to us to come on to that Beautiful home that Jesus said "I am going to prepare."
