She had been sick for only a week with pneumonia, which was the cause of her death. Everything that loving hands could do for this young lady was done, but she could not withstand this dreaded disease. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. I. Clay of Calvary and was about 29 years of age. She was a consistent member of the Calvary Baptist church and was loved by all who knew her for her many charitable deeds. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Calvary Sunday afternoon, being conducted by Dr. J. A. Wynne of this city. Interment followed in the Calvary cemetery. Miss Clay is survived by her father and mother and four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Walsh of Concord; Miss Ruth Clay of Jacksonville, Fla.; Miss Clyde Clay of Calvary; and Mrs. Churchill Johnson of Hinson, Fla. The Messenger joins the many friends of the bereaved ones in their sad hour of affliction. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
