The Cairo Messenger, Friday, October 5, 1917
Mr. Audrey Chason, of Doerun, GA, who was operated upon at Dr. Walker's 
Sanitarium last Saturday, passed away early Sunday morning. He had been sick 
for only a few days, yet he had allowed this disease to get too far advanced on 
him before he consulted a physician. Mr. Chason was about 25 years of age and 
was a member the Baptist church. The funeral services were held at Pine Level 
church, north of town, last Monday afternoon, being attended by a large 
concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. The last sad rites were conducted 
by Rev. J. P. Swann. Mr. Chason is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and 
Mrs. W. W. Chason of this county, his wife, two children and several brothers 
and sisters, besides numerous relatives and friends. The Messenger extends 
condolence to the bereaved ones in their hour of sadness.
