W. Bostwick Laid To Rest Last Tuesday The many friends of Mrs. E. W. Bostwick will regret to learn of her death which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. L. Bostwick of Camilla last Monday morning. Mrs. Bostwick, who was the mother of Mrs. W. B. Roddenbery, had spent much of her time here, and was well known by many of our people. She left Cairo several weeks ago for Atlanta where she underwent an operation at a hospital in Atlanta, but never fully recovered from its effect, and coupled with her old age, she quietly passed away at four o'clock Monday morning. Mrs. Bostwick was in her 78th year and would have reached this age, had she lived until the 10th of next January. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church and during her life time did much charitable work and was loved by everyone with whom she came in contact. She will be sadly missed, not only in Cairo, but in many places over the state where she has visited. The funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. L. Lewis in Camilla, Tuesday morning at ten o'clock, being attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. Rev. N. T. Pafford, pastor of the Camilla Methodist church, and Rev. W. C. Jones of Cairo, a life-long friend of the deceased and Dr. J. A. Wynne of this city conducted the last sad rites over this good woman. Interment followed in the Camilla cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Roddenbery and children attended the funeral services. Mrs. Bostwick is survived by four children, Mrs. W. B. Roddenbery, of Cairo; Mrs. F. L. Lewis and Mrs. J. L. Turner of Camilla, and Mrs. L. B. Freeman of Talbotton, besides numerous relatives and friends. The Messenger joins the many friends of the deceased in extending condolence to the bereaved ones.
