E. Clay Passed Away Last Sunday Night After one weeks illness from the fatal disease, pneumonia, Mr. R. E. Clay died at his home, about two miles from Pine Park, last Sunday evening about eight o'clock. The funeral services were held at the Cook cemetery Monday afternoon at four o'clock, Rev. T. A. White, of Thomasville and Dr. J. A. Wynne, of Cairo, conducting the last sad rites. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the services. Mr. Clay is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters. He was fifty- four years of age and was a member of the Baptist church. He has been a resident of Grady County for practically all his life and was well known and honored by his many friends. We extend our deepest sympathy to his loved ones in this hour of sadness.
