Tyus Passed To Great Beyond Mrs. Martha J. Tyus died at her home about one mile south of town at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Although Mrs. Tyus has suffered from organic heart trouble for several months, the end came very suddenly. Her daughter, Mrs. Onselo Maxwell, who lived with her mother, was not aware of the change until a few minutes before she passed away. The funeral was held at her home yesterday afternoon at four o'clock, Rev. W. G. Sellers and Rev. W. C. Jones conducted the funeral rites; her body was laid to rest in the Baggett cemetery right near her home. Mrs. Tyus was in her sixty-ninth year. She is the widow of the late "Jack" Tyus who was the first sheriff of Grady County. She was a lovable, sweet spirited woman; although she stayed at home closely those who knew her admired her. She went from earth in great peace with God and men. Only one son, Mr. R. A. Tyus, and one daughter, Mrs. Onselo Maxwell, survive her. She also leaves three brothers and two sisters and quite a number of grand-children; among them is one who is serving his country in France. May the God of Heaven keep these bereaved ones in the hollow of His hands. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
