He was born April 12, 1837, making his stay on earth 81 years, one month and twenty-four days. December 19th, 1867 he was married to Miss Briny Maxwell, who preceded him to the great beyond 2 years and 5 months before. All was done for him that loving hands and friends could do, but without avail. He suffered a great deal in his last days, and bore it with patience. He was laid to rest at Tired Creek church cemetery by the side of his dear companion where he sweetly rests from all toil and trouble. Mr. Sanders leaves eight children, Messrs. C. W. Sanders of Watts, California; F. F., W., J. R., H. A. and M. T. Sanders; Mrs. W. H. Butler and Mrs. W. C. Gainey and several grand children; also three brothers, to mourn their loss, but we hope it is his eternal gain. He will be greatly missed by his neighbors and friends where he was known. His every-day life speaks more than we can write. But why lament his death, when death is a gate to endless joy?
