C. Walden, who resided near Providence, about two and a half miles south of Whigham passed away at his home about ten o'clock Wednesday night. Mr. Walden was one of the county's most prominent citizens and was about 60 years of age. He had only been sick since Monday with paralysis. The funeral services were held from his home yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock, interment following in the Jones cemetery. The last sad rites were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Wm. Hollingsworth, of Whigham, being attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. Mr. Walden is survived by his wife, two sons, Arthur and Tally, one daughter, Miss Rix Walden; three brothers, Messrs. R. M., A. Z. and N. J. Walden, all of Grady County; two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Asbell of South Florida and Mrs. W. M. Barriineau of this county, besides numerous relatives and friends. The Messenger extends condolence to the bereaved ones in this sad hour of affliction.
