M. Hawthorn Early Friday morning, September 27th, the death angel visited the home of our friend and neighbor, Mrs. L. M. Hawthorn, and called her spirit to its eternal resting place. Sister Hawthorn was born in Northern Alabama, and in early childhood, with her parents moved to this state. On January 28th, 1887, she was married to Mr. W. B. Hawthorn, who preceded her to the grave eleven years ago. Since his death, she has made her home in Cairo, where she had many warm friends. She joined the Methodist church in April of 1911, and has been a faithful member since then. She was a member of the William Powell Bible Class in Sunday School and was always in her place with a smile for everybody, until a few months ago, when she was taken sick, and never recovered. She bore untold agony with the same sweet submissive spirit that was always hers. Therefore be it resolved: 1st. That we submit to our Father's will, and remember that "He doeth all things well." 2nd. That our class and Sunday School has lost a faithful member, and that we commend her example of faithful ness to others. 3rd. That we extend sympathy to the bereaved family, and point them to Him who shall wipe away all tears. Respectfully submitted, Mrs. W. T. Brown Mrs. Ira Carlisle Mrs. A. L. Kelly Mrs. D. F.
