The Cairo Messenger, Friday, October 25, 1918
The remains of Mr. Harvey Hester, who died on pneumonia at Charleston last 
Friday, were brought to Cairo last Monday and laid to rest in Long Branch 
church one mile from town.  Services were conducted by Elder J. J. Johnson.

He was 21 years of age and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hester and had only 
been in the service of Uncle Sam's navy for about three weeks at the time of 
his death.  We extend condolence to the bereaved ones.
