E. A. Aldridge On the third day of October at about six a.m. the Death Angel visited the home of Mrs. J. R. Peacock and took from her side her dearly beloved mother, Mrs. Arentha Aldridge. She was eighty-two years and five months and twenty days old. She died of Blood Poison, having scratched her hand on a nail just seven days before she died. She was a member of the Methodist church. She joined the church when she was quite young. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a kind friend and bore her suffering with patience. She leaves two sons and four daughters to mourn her death: Messrs. John and J. M. Aldridge, Mrs. J. R. Peacock, Mrs. A. A. Atkinson, Mrs. Sarah Chastain and Mrs. Ella McCord. Her remains were laid to rest Friday, Oct. 4th, in the Bold Springs Cemetery, beside the grave of her husband, who preceded her to the grave 28 years ago. Rev. H. P. Stubbs conducted the funeral services. One precious to our heart is gone, A voice we love is stilled; A place made vacant in our home That ne'er can be filled. Where is our mother and grand mother gone? No more to shed the bitter tears She is happy in her mansion there. But she has crossed the river, She is with the Angels now, she laid aside her crosses And a crown is on her brow.
