Rehberg Dies In "No Man's Land" Mr. J. G. Rehberg, one of Grady's most progressive farmers, residing six miles south of Cairo, has received a letter form Cecil D. Smith, a Chaplain with the American Expeditionary Forces in France, telling him of the death of his son, John Leland Rehberg. This is the first news Mr. Rehberg has received concerning his son's death, the War Department having never notified him. Mr. Rehberg has written Congressman Frank Park, requesting him to get any information he possibly can concerning the boy's death. Young Rehberg was 26 years of age and was drafted into the service from Grady County the 27th of last June. He had only been in France since about the first of September. The letter to Mr. Rehberg is as follows: France Oct. 3rd, 1918 Mr. John G. Rehberg, Cairo, Ga. My dear Mr. Rehberg: As the Chaplain who had charge of the service rendered in honor of your son, John L. Rehberg, I wish to express my sincere sympathy for your loss. I trust that your loyalty to the National cause may be so strong as to lighten the sorrow of this sacrifice and that your hope in the life to come may be so positive as to aspire you for a happy re-union in the better days when life's battles shall receive their full fruition. Very sincerely yours, Cecil D. Smith Chaplain, 39th Infantry Since the above was put in type, Mr. Rehberg has received the following letter: A.P.O.N. October 4, 1918 Mr. John G. Rehberg, Cairo, Ga.
