L. Merritt Crosses "Great Divide" Mrs. Walter H. Merritt died at her home Sunday morning about ten o'clock. Friends deeply regret to learn of her death. She had been sick several days with influenza which finally developed into pneumonia. She was of remarkable sweet spirit and loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, a kind and affectionate mother. Funeral services were conducted at her home Monday morning by Revs. F. O. Oats and J. P. Swann, the remains were laid to rest at Pleasant Grove cemetery. She was a consistent member of Capel Baptist church. Mrs. Merritt is survived by her husband and two children, Cleo and Willie, aged about six and three, mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. McClelland, four sisters, four brothers, also father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Merritt and family, besides numerous other relatives and friends.
