Her death, though not unexpected, came as a shock to her family and friends and ends a beautiful Christian life. Before her marriage, to Mr. James L. Holloway of Edgefield, S. C., Oct. 26, 1870, she was Miss Irene Clarke of Augusta, Ga. They moved to Ft. White, Fla. In 1872 where she joined the Elm Street Baptist Church. After moving to Whigham in January 1900 she allied herself with the Whigham Baptist church proving a faithful and consistent member. She is survived by ten children, 30 grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her loss. Her remains were laid to rest at Trinity church three miles north of Whigham, Wednesday, Nov. 29th. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hollingsworth. Mrs. Holloway was a sweet spirited woman and a blessing to her family and the community in which she lived.
