M. Arline died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. A. Deas, here last Friday morning after a long, lingering illness of several months. The funeral services were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, and she was laid to rest in the Cairo cemetery. Rev. W. M. Blitch, pastor of the Methodist church at Eastman, an old friend of the family, preached the funeral. Mrs. Arline, was 84 years of age. She was born March 4th, 1834, in what was then Decatur county, now Grady. She was married to Mr.Arthur R. Arline, September 18th, 1856, who was killed in service during the war between the States, at which time Mrs. Arline was left with four small children which she reared to honorable manhood and womanhood. She was Miss Martha Pearce before her marriage. She joined the Methodist church in early womanhood, and was always a consistent member. Two of her children survive her, Mrs. J. A. Deas of Cairo, and Mr. R. H. Arline of Pelham, also a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
