The Cairo Messenger, Friday, December 6, 1918 
Mrs. Tom Walden Passes Away

Mrs. Tom Walden died at her home about five and a half miles south of Cairo 
last Saturday night about 12 o'clock.

Her death was the result of ten days suffering from Influenza, followed by 
pneumonia.

The funeral and burial services were held at the Hawthorn cemetery Monday 
morning at 10 o'clock.  She was 32 years of age.

Besides her husband, she leaves 4 young sons, four brothers, three sisters, and 
a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Duncan, who reside north of Whigham, to 
mourn her loss.
