Beale Dies of Influenza-Pneumonia At his home here in Cairo Mr. Charles Roddenbery Beale died last Wednesday about 8:45 o'clock. He returned from a business trip to Macon on Tuesday, the 3rd of this month and went to bed with influenza the night following. Pneumonia developed Sunday morning and this resulted in his death. Mr. Beale was 28 years of age and had been a member of the local Baptist church since childhood. He married Miss Irma Powell June 5th , 1913. With the exception of about two years he has always made Cairo his home. He was left an orphan when a baby and was reared by Mr. And Mrs. W. B. Roddenbery, his uncle and aunt. He had a happy, cheerful disposition that won for him many friends and possessed many admirable traits of character. At the time of his death, he was actively engaged in the cattle business in Cairo and throughout south Georgia. The funeral services were held at the local cemetery yesterday afternoon at three o'clock. Dr. J. A. Wynne, pastor of the Baptist church, lead the service and was assisted by Rev. W. C. Jones and Rev. George Beale of Nashville, Tenn., an uncle of the deceased. The floral offerings were very beautiful and were in abundance. Mr. Beale is survived by his wife, two small boys and numerous relatives and friends. The Messenger joins the many friends of the bereaved ones in extending condolence, during their sad hours.
