He returned from Camp Hancock on Monday previous to his death. He was a little ill at this time. A few weeks later he was drafted into the army service. He was a genuine Christian boy, a devoted son to his old widowed mother. He possessed splendid morals. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World. The funeral services were held at Long Branch Cemetery Monday afternoon at three o'clock Rev. W. C. Jones and Rev. Reynolds conducting the services. Besides his aged mother, he leaves three sisters and four brothers to survive him. They are Mesdames Henry Knight, Odie Jordan, Kedar Pyles, Messrs.
