News of the death in Gadsden, Ala., of Mr. Loyal Dowling, whose wife was Miss Lucile Stringer of this city, was received here last Friday with deep sorrow. He had been ill only about ten days with influenza and pneumonia, this disease caused his death. Mr. Dowling was thirty four years of age and was born in Barbour County, Alabama. He was married to Miss Lucile Stringer, a sister of Mrs. Joe White of Cairo, on the 12th of September 1917. He was a successful merchant of Gadsden at the time of his death. Mrs. J. R. White left Friday morning to be with Mrs. Dowling in her deep sorrow. The Messenger joins the many friends of the family here in extending condolence to the bereaved wife.
