H. Ponder Died Last Friday Afternoon News of the death of Mrs. D. H. Ponder at her old home about nine miles north of Cairo on last Friday afternoon at two o'clock, was received with deep regret by her many friends and relatives scattered over this and adjoining counties. She was pleasantly known throughout the entire northern portion of this county and she was loved by all who knew her. Her genial disposition and neighborliness made her a real favorite among her friends and neighbors. She was most faithful to her undertakings and her courageous endeavor usually brought success. At the age of 75 years, after many years of affliction, she quietly departed to take up her task elsewhere. She had been a faithful member of the Trinity Baptist church since nine years of age and at all times she was ready to lend a helping hand in church affairs. The funeral services were held at Trinity church, three miles north of Whigham at 4 p.m. last Saturday and interment followed in the church cemetery. Ten children survive her, all of whom were present when the end came. They are: Mrs. Minnie Brinson, L. M. Ponder, R. D. Ponder, J. L. Ponder, J. T. Ponder, Mrs. Annie Mobley, Mrs. Johnnie Mobley, Mrs. Mamie Godwin and J. G. Ponder. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.8 Kb
