J. McMillian Died Last Friday Night Very sad is the news of the death of Mrs. William McMillian at her home about 5 miles east of Cairo on last Friday night about 9 o'clock. About four o'clock in the afternoon, she suffered a severe stroke of paralysis and died within five hours after she was stricken. She was 73 years of age and was apparently in good health until the night previous to being stricken. Mrs. McMillian suffered a stroke of paralysis about five years ago, but had nearly recovered from this as it was a great deal less severe than the last. She joined the Bold Springs Methodist church when it was first founded about sixty years ago. At that time she was only twelve years of age. Mrs. McMillian was a favorite among her acquaintances and she was always faithful to her trusts. She was a noble and loyal Christian woman and always took an interest in church affairs. The funeral exercises were held at Bold Springs Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, Rev. W. C. Jones conducting the exercises. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Among the survivors besides Mr. McMillian are nine children, all of whom were present when she died. One brother and two sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Eva Dixon of Plant City, Fla., Mrs. Sallie Asbell of Plant City, Fla., and Mr. James McCord of Tallahassee, Fla.
