J. McMillan, one of the oldest citizens of this county. It occurred at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. S. C. Scholar, near Cairo. Although seventy-five years of age, Mr. McMillan was possessed of the spryness of a man many years younger, until just a few weeks ago. He has been living in Birmingham, Ala., for the past two years, and was here on a visit to relatives when taken sick. He was married to Miss Sallie Simmons of Birmingham on January 20th of this year. High blood pressure was the cause of Mr. McMillan’s death. He had been confined to his bed for slightly more than three weeks. His death came at 4 o’clock Thursday morning. The funeral services will be held at Bold Springs Church today, Friday, at one o’clock. Interment will follow in the Bold Springs Cemetery. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church and a member of the local Masonic Lodge. Surviving him are five daughter: Mrs. J. A. Sarrett, Cairo; Mrs. Dave Golden, Mrs. Redden Mash and Mrs. Sam Scholar, Grady County; and Mrs. Henry Barrett, Birmingham. Also four sons: Mr. W. G. McMillan, Birmingham; Mr. D.S. McMillan, Mitchell County; Mr. C. W. McMillan, Early County; and Mr. T. H. McMillan, Grady County. There are also a large number of grandchildren File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/grady/obits/gob1542mcmillan.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.0 Kb
