F. Lodge, Sr., passed away Sunday, November 1, 1970 in the Archbold Memorial Hospital of Thomasville after a short illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 2, 3:00 p.m., at the Whigham Baptist Church. Rev. Buford Henderson, Rev. Merrill Coram and Rev. Leon Vanlandingham officiated. Active pallbearers were Frank Lodge, Lamar Lodge, Thomas Lodge, Welberg Lodge, Bobby Martin and Lodge Holman. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Kennemur, Luther Harden, Ralph Larkin, R. A. Harrell, Tom Stephens, Gus Stephens, Jack Harrell, Willie Crew, Buford Connell, G. B. Trulock, Dewitt Trulock, Carroll Sanders, Turner Harrell, Ralph McBroom, Carlos Cone, and George McElvey. Interment was in the Whigham Cemetery. Mrs. Lodge was born in Whigham November 17, 1875 to B. R. T. and Amanda Byrd Harrison. She married G. F. Lodge December 29, 1893. Mr. Lodge passed away March 14, 1934. She has been a lifetime resident of this county and a member of Whigham Baptist Church. Surviving the deceased are four sons, Lawton Lodge of Whigham; G. F. Lodge of Fernandino Beach, Fla.; Lloyd Lodge of Tallahassee; John A. Lodge of Whigham; three daughters, Mrs. Sam Stephens of Dothan, Ala.; Mrs. C. B. Butler of Columbus, Ga.; Mrs. Grady Holman of Blakely; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Clark Funeral Home of Cairo was in charge of arrangements.
