Cairo Messenger, August 12, 1904 
In the Whigham Sparks section:
Died near Whigham, Mrs. Emeline Cooper, aged 75 years.  She was sitting near 
the door sewing and, dropping her scissors, she stooped to pick them up and 
pitched out, striking the steps and receiving such injuries to cause her death 
in an hour.  Her body was interred at the Jones cemetery Friday afternoon.
