The baby died Tuesday and arrangements were made to bury the little one Wednesday, but it was seen that the fond mother too must pass away and the baby was kept out. At 2 o'clock Wednesday the mother died and both were put in the same casket. Mrs. McElvy was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brownlee of Whigham, was born in Abbeville, Co., S. C., and was married two years ago to Mr. G. B. McElvy, and was a consistent member of the Baptist church. How sad that the death angel claimed the sweet little boy who was sick only a few days, then the fond mother was called so soon to go with her babe, she asked for the baby just before she passed away and it was gently laid in her arms, she folded it to her bosom, not knowing it was dead, she passed over and away from those who loved her. The casket was draped with the choicest of flowers. The loving mother and beautiful little babe were interred in the family cemetery Thursday 18th. It's sad to give them up, but how sweet to know their souls no sorrows know. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
