C. Sills Passes Away Mrs. Mary F. Sills, wife of J. C. Sills, died at her home in Pinckard, Ala., July 18th, 1905, at the age of 58 years. She leaves a husband, one daughter, two sisters and one brother, to mourn her death. The daughter, Mrs. R. J. Powell of Dothan, Ala.; one sister, Mrs. I. H. Fisher at Pinckard, Ala.; another sister, Mrs. S. M. Parkhill of Jacksonville, Fla., and the brother, H. P. Hall, at Archer, Fla. She joined the Baptist church at Cairo, Ga. many years ago and was baptised by Rev. R. H. Harris. Her membership has been with the Baptist church at Pinckard for three years, and her life has been consistent with her profession and love for Christ. She was a loving and attentive wife, a true and faithful mother and a kind and considerate neighbor. Those who knew her best loved her most. But she has taken her flight from earth to glory. Her loving voice will be heard no more in our midst. Weep not dear friends. For God giveth and God taketh away. "Blessed be the name of the Lord." Death has no terror to a Christian. A few hours before her death she was told that she could not live but a short time. In reply she said: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" A Christian's life disarms even death of its sting and terror, and enables us to cross over the cold, dark and sluggish river of death without a murmur.
