Davis Passes Away Our community was shocked last Saturday morning when the news of the sudden death of Mr. Seaborn R. Davis became known. Mr. Davis held an important position with the Cairo Banking Company. Mr. Davis was at work Friday in his regular routine of duties at the bank and when he left the place of business late Friday afternoon, no one dreamed that he was so soon to be claimed by the reaper -- Death. Apparently, he was in good health and there was nothing whatever to indicate that he was the least bit indisposed. Friday night in company with several other couples, he attended a cane grinding several miles out in the country and while returning from the place and when the crowd was near the home of W. B. Roddenbery, he was suddenly seized with his last illness. The young people in the company quickly carried him to the home of Mr. Roddenbery, but by the time they reached the house it was too late to relieve him. He died in a very few minutes after reaching the house, and without ever being able to say a word after he was stricken. He is thought to have died of acute indigestion, which affected his heart so suddenly that relief could not be had in time to save him. Mr. Davis was a young man of much promise and one who numbered his friends by his acquaintances. He was the youngest son of Mr. Walter Davis, President of the Cairo Banking Company. The deceased was buried in Cairo last Sunday morning. The Messenger joins the many friends of the grief stricken family in their affliction.
